Pretty sure that my alternator gave out last night, leaving me stranded while out driving at dusk. The car started up and drove fine for about 10 minutes and then all of a sudden I noticed the lights on the dash growing dim and then the ABS light and others started kicking on. When I pulled over into turn lane the engine and everything just shut down. No power at all. We swapped a new battery in and got it to start enough for me to drive home with no lights on following the car in front of me. From what I've read, definitely sounds like the alternator gave up the ghost. So as I'll need to replace it, am I better off swapping in a new OEM one or does an upgrade exist out there? Planning on doing the work myself so any tips/walkthroughs you all know of would be very helpful. Thanks! Jay
